Poem Six (03/16/2025)

Stop telling me to not show my disappointment or anger when I can’t

Stop telling me to suppress my true feelings when it’s hard for me to control

Stop telling me to be happy when I’m not

I should be allowed to be overwhelmed

I should be allowed to cry

I should be allowed to not smile when I don’t want to

I should be allowed to be upset
